The United Way Volunteer Center is continually reaching out to the community to encourage volunteerism in the Eastern Upper Peninsula. One way we promote volunteerism is by recognizing individuals, groups and businesses that have been spreading goodwill in the community throughout the year. Each year, our pool of nominees will garner special recognition in the month of Febraury, when community members will be able to cast their vote for Volunteer of the Year in two catagories: Individual and Community Partner
The winner will be announced in April at our annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held in conjunctions with National Volunteer Appreciation Week.(Watch our Facebook page and Newsletters for more information)
Anyone can nominate an individual, group or business. By nominating those that serve their community, you can show appreciation for the hard work they contribute to making our community a better place to be. Each nominee will be recognized with a surprise “Rally of Recognition” prior to the luncheon where the special individual will receive a framed certificate denoting the award along with a free lunch courtesy of Cup of the Day in Downtown Sault, and a ticket to the awards luncheon. Community Partners receive a framed certificate and other tokens of appreciation. Individual and Community Partner winners will be highlighted in the local media.
Please join us as we honor those that go the extra mile and make our community a better place to be. Simply fill in the online nomination form below. Nominations are reviewed through United Way of the EUP's Community Engagement Team.
